The mission of this program is to prepare professional speech-language pathologists and researchers who are competent, informed, and committed to the highest standards of the profession. The program emphasizes clinical skills in assessment and intervention, provides advanced coursework in the sciences supporting the discipline of speech-language pathology, and encourages scholarly activities through research and pedagogy. Students who successfully complete this program are qualified for state licensure as a speech-language pathologist and/or professional certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
