Inclusive education is not an act of charity, it is an act of humanity. It acknowledges the humanity of all children and recognises that each child has a natural desire to learn. It removes barriers to learning and participation so that every child can take part in every aspect of school life, as far or as fast as her or his abilities allow. Inclusive education is about all children learning together, with appropriate support for those who may have difficulties.

“Inclusive education is both a human right and a social responsibility. It is the most effective way to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to reach their full potential.”
“When we include people with disabilities in all aspects of our communities, everyone benefits. We do not help them, we help ourselves.”
“We must be inclusive – not because it is the politically correct thing to do, but because it is the right thing to do.”

“Inclusion is an act of courage that begins with letting go of our fears and beliefs that limit the possibilities for each and every one of us. Inclusion requires us all to let go of what we know in order to allow room for what we can become.”
“Teachers who inspire realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how you use them.”
“I think we all have an innate understanding that every single individual, regardless of ability or disability, should have a chance to lead a fulfilling life and contribute to their community.”

“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.”
“If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place.”
