The Inclusive Education Masters is a program at the University of Toronto that offers those interested in the field a chance to develop their knowledge of inclusive education and special education. The program is designed for teachers who already have their initial teaching license, and there are two main areas of focus in this program: students with mild learning disabilities and students with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
This program has a strong focus on educating teachers to look beyond the classroom, and to be able to reach students wherever they will be most engaged. Participants in the program will gain an understanding of how to meet the needs of any student, regardless of their disability or their environment, and they will learn how to work with other professionals who may also be working with these students. This can include physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and many more.
Those who take part in the Inclusive Education Masters are prepared for a career where they can make a big difference in the lives of children and young adults with disabilities.
