Home School Speech Therapy is a home school program that provides supplemental activities and materials to help children develop their oral communication skills. The activities and materials are created by a credentialed speech-language pathologist, who has been trained in appropriate assessment and therapy techniques for children with language disorders.
This program uses the same tools and techniques that a speech-language pathologist would use in a traditional clinical setting, and allows the parents to be directly involved in the child’s learning and progress.
In addition to offering a range of services for children with language disorders, we also offer play groups, language development classes and other programs for typically developing children, who can benefit from the social and learning opportunities we offer.

The program is designed to be used as a supplement to your child’s current educational program, whether that’s an online or homeschool program or your local public or private school. Home School Speech Therapy can serve as an alternative to more traditional speech and language therapy provided by your local speech-language pathologist (SLP).
Parent participation is an important part of the program. Children who receive support from their parents, and are encouraged to practice the skills they learn at home, generally achieve better results than children who receive formal speech therapy alone.
The Home School Speech Therapy Program is an exciting, new option for pediatric speech therapy. Whether your child is enrolled in a public school speech program or has not had access to speech therapy services, the Home School Speech Therapy Program is the perfect complement to your home school curriculum. The program includes weekly, private tutoring sessions with a credentialed speech-language pathologist and supplemental activities to provide your child with the opportunity to practice his or her oral communication skills outside of these sessions.
In order to be successful in the program, you will need to commit yourself and your child to regular attendance at tutoring sessions and completion of the supplemental activities provided by the service provider. The amount of time you will spend on these activities will depend upon your child’s needs; however, an average of two hours per week should be sufficient.
The speech-language pathologist has extensive experience working with children who have language disorders. Additionally, she is the mother of a child with language delays and knows firsthand how difficult it can be to provide appropriate communication support in the home environment. The speech-language pathologist understands how difficult it can be for parents to find the time to work on speech and language development when there are so many other things going on at home. As a result, she is dedicated to providing helpful information and resources to parents of children with language disorders so they can provide the best possible support for their child’s language development.
While the program is designed to be parent-implemented, parents can receive support from the speech-language pathologist through individualized lessons and email. The speech-language pathologist will be available to implement the program as necessary.
The Home School Speech Therapy program is intended to supplement rather than replace a child’s current speech and language therapy program. Parents are strongly encouraged to consult with their child’s teacher or speech-language pathologist before beginning the program.
