Hedbanz Speech Therapy

Hedbanz Speech Therapy, LLC is a family-owned speech-language therapy clinic dedicated to helping children with language and speech disorders. We believe that each child is unique, and we design therapy programs based on the specific needs of each one of our clients.

Their therapy techniques are based on the latest research into child development and language acquisition. Their clinic is a home-like environment where your child can feel safe and comfortable; we want them to be excited about coming to their sessions so they can learn as much as possible. Their staff is highly trained and has years of experience working with children with a wide range of learning differences.

Hedbanz Speech Therapy, LLC was founded by Steve Hedbanz in 2011 after he spent five years working for the Early Childhood Development Program in Summit County, Utah. Steve began his career in education in 1998 as a teacher at St. Paul’s Academy in San Francisco, California. He has since worked as an elementary school teacher, a teaching assistant at the University of Utah, and an early childhood program manager before opening his own clinic in Park City, Utah.

These conditions can be caused by many factors, including physical problems like damage to your vocal cords or oral structures. They may also be caused by neurological problems like Parkinson’s disease or cerebral palsy. In some cases the cause is unknown, but any condition that interferes with your ability to communicate properly can make daily life difficult—and often leads to social isolation.

Hedbanz Speech Therapy is different from other speech therapy games because it helps kids practice asking and answering questions that contain “wh” words. It’s super fun, and it helps kids practice their communication skills in a way that’s relaxed and silly and not like regular therapy at all.

The goal of Hedbanz is to teach children how to express themselves clearly by training them on how to provide descriptions of common objects. In order for the child to learn how to describe the object, they must first understand it. The way we achieve this understanding is by having the child wear a headband with a picture of an object on it that they can see but everyone else cannot. The headband is accompanied by a matching stack of cards containing words describing the object, which are shown to other participants in the session.

The other participants then ask the child questions in order to try and guess what the object is. The child answers by providing as much detail as possible about the object, such as what it looks like (size, color, shape), where it can be found (what room in a house), or how it is used (for cooking or for entertainment). After some number of attempts, usually when there is no more information available about the object, another participant guesses what the object could be.
