Speech therapy is the branch of medical science that specializes in the examination and treatment of speech disorders, including difficulty pronouncing sounds, talking too fast or too slowly, stuttering, lisping, and more. These kinds of issues can be caused by a number of things, including stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, Parkinson’s disease, cleft lip and/or palate, autism spectrum disorder, voice disorders (including chronic hoarseness), childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), cerebral palsy (CP), intellectual disability (ID), aphasia and other neurological conditions.
The primary goal of speech therapists is to improve communication skills so that patients are able to function in their daily lives. This means being able to speak clearly enough for people to understand them, as well as understanding what others say. Speech therapists also help with cognitive communication issues related to thinking and memory.
Ceu Speech Therapy is here to help. With our wide network of speech therapists, we can get you the services you need when you need them. Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) have years of experience working with children and adults who have a wide variety of disorders, including developmental delays, hearing loss, trauma, brain injury, mental health issues, stroke, and autism.
Ceu Speech Therapy is a mobile speech therapy service for children ages 2.5 through 6 years old. Ceu Speech Therapy is a novel speech therapy tool that is used to treat a communication disorder known as dysarthria. Dysarthria is characterized by slow, slurred speech and difficulty moving the muscles of your mouth.
In the past, this type of speech therapy has been offered in person only. We have developed a way to deliver treatment through a phone app, making it more accessible than ever before. The exercises are arranged in tiers. Each tier contains 5-10 exercises that focus on speaking at different speeds or pronouncing different words. As you progress through the tiers, the pace and complexity of the exercises increase.
When you first install our application, you will be assigned to Tier 1 automatically (or you can choose which tier you would like to start with). Within each tier, there are several options for which exercise you would like to complete. You can even pick what kind of background noise you would like during your exercise! For example, if you find it helpful to hear music while speaking, you can select that option. If you prefer silence, that is also an option.
